The Complete SupportUKtoday Story

From S'port Me Today to SupportUKtoday: A Journey of Survival, Betrayal, and Rebirth

← Back to Visual Journey

The Beginning: S'port Me Today (sportmetoday.com)

S'port Me Today logo

After years of volunteering as a Regional Coordinator for Welfare and Charities with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association since 1991, I had a vision: create one unified brand that could support multiple charities through sustainable giving.

The original brand was S'port Me Today (sportmetoday.com) with the tagline "Support Mankind Forever".

The Windmill Symbol

The colorful windmill wasn't chosen randomly. It represented my personal journey:

  • Dark, wet, windy days – The cold, bleak day my father died (24 February 1997), the PTSD that followed, the years of bullying and pain
  • Transformation to hope and colour – The windmill catches the wind (adversity) and transforms it into energy (purpose)
  • Constant motion – Like the tree that bends but doesn't break, the windmill keeps turning no matter the storm

This was the foundation. This was the dream.

The Betrayal: When Trust Was Broken

As the vision grew, I brought in advisors and partners to help build the brand. I trusted people with my business name, my mission, and my future.

Then came the betrayal.

A former business director and advisor – someone I had trusted – stole the business name and left me buried in debt. The brand I had built, the mission I had created, was taken from me.

I was left with nothing but the vision in my heart and the determination that had kept me standing through every storm since childhood.

The boy who survived a near-death accident at age six, who endured relentless bullying, who lost his father and battled PTSD, was now facing another fight.

But I didn't break. I rebuilt.

The Rebuild: Support US Today (sportustoday.co.uk)

After the betrayal, I rebranded to Support US Today (sportustoday.co.uk).

The Teddy Bears and Hearts

This version introduced two teddy bears holding hearts, representing:

  • Comfort and companionship – For those experiencing mental health challenges and homelessness
  • Love and connection – The foundation of all charity work
  • Togetherness – "US" not "me" – we're in this together

But the journey wasn't over. I was still learning, still protecting, still fighting to keep the mission alive.

The Protection: Securing the Vision

After being betrayed once, I refused to let it happen again.

I began legally protecting every domain associated with the brand and its partner campaigns:

  • sportmetoday.com – The original S'port Me Today brand (protected and redirected)
  • sportustoday.co.uk – Support US Today (protected)
  • supportustoday.co.uk – Active storefront and mission site
  • supportuktoday.com – Primary live domain with full content
  • nomenotree.co.uk – NoMeNoTrees mental health campaign (protected)
  • justformeandmydog.com – JustForMeandMyDog companionship campaign (protected)

Every domain. Every variation. Every possible angle of attack.

No one would steal my mission again.

The Rebirth: SupportUKtoday (supportuktoday.com)

SupportUKtoday main logo

The current brand, SupportUKtoday, brings together everything I've learned:

The Complete Symbol

The logo combines all the elements:

  • 🌈 The Windmill – Transformation from darkness to light, from pain to purpose
  • 🧸 The Teddy Bear – Comfort and companionship for mental health and homelessness
  • ❤️ The Heart – Love, the foundation of everything we do
  • 🌳 The Tree (in spirit) – You are a living tree, still standing through every storm

Flier version: Teddy bear on Earth holding a heart – showing global compassion rooted in local action

The Mission Refined

30% of every purchase supports UK charities.

Not vague promises. Not hidden percentages. Transparent. Accountable. Real.

SupportUKtoday flier

"Small actions make big impacts – Do one act of kindness each day & change 365 lives!"

The Partner Campaigns

NoMeNoTrees (nomenotree.co.uk) – Mental Health

Created with Dean Cole, who understood the power of the tree metaphor from my own journey.

The logo shows a tree half bare, half full – representing the journey from darkness to light, from depression to hope, from winter to spring.

This campaign supports mental health charities and raises awareness that recovery is possible. The tree can bloom again.

JustForMeandMyDog (justformeandmydog.com) – Companionship

This campaign was inspired by a former business director's idea from up North, refined and protected under the SupportUKtoday umbrella.

It supports people experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges through the bond with their companion animals.

"Memories last forever, never do they die, True friends stay together and never say goodbye..."

For many people living on the streets, their dog is their only family, their only warmth, their only reason to keep going.

This campaign ensures they're not forgotten.

8 February 2026: The Clean Relaunch

On Saturday, 8th February 2026, SupportUKtoday relaunched with:

  • Legal protection on all domains
  • Clear governance and transparent donation policies
  • Partner campaigns properly structured and protected
  • Mentor guidance ensuring sustainable growth
  • SJ CRAFTS partnership for product creation
  • No debt, no betrayal, no compromise

This wasn't just a business launch. This was a statement:

"You can knock me down, but I will always stand back up."

The Meaning Behind the Colors

Every color in the SupportUKtoday brand tells part of the story:

  • Black and White – The journey from darkness to light, from despair to hope
  • Brown – The earth, grounding, homelessness, the bare tree in winter
  • Green – Growth, renewal, mental health awareness, the tree blooming again
  • Rainbow colors (windmill) – Hope, diversity, transformation, the full spectrum of human experience
  • Red (heart) – Love, the foundation of all charity work

Why This Matters

This isn't just a brand. This is proof that:

  • ✅ Survival is possible after trauma
  • ✅ Rebuilding is possible after betrayal
  • ✅ Purpose can emerge from pain
  • ✅ One person can make a difference
  • ✅ Transparency and accountability matter
  • ✅ Small actions create big impacts

From a boy born with deformities, nearly killed at age six, bullied relentlessly, who lost his father and battled PTSD, who was betrayed and left in debt...

...to a man who now helps others stand tall.

The Tree Still Stands

No matter how bare the branches.
No matter how harsh the storm.
No matter how many times you're knocked down.

The tree still stands. So can you.
